A little late night sneak peek of tmrw’s blog post | Ph by Apneet Kaur

I had the extreme pleasure of attending the Antonio Lopez: Fashion, Art, Sex, and Disco book launch party with editors David and Kevin of Vestal Magazine at the Prince George Ballroom. As you can see from the photos, the night was an extravagant affair with every inch of the room exuding sex, fashion, and disco. The entire event was a huge celebration of Antonio’s life and art, and every person I talked to who knew him personally spoke about what an amazing individual he was.
As if the night wasn’t already spectacular, I spotted Bill Cunningham as he was leaving the party! He’s such a huge inspiration to me and I was just absolutely giddy. He literally is the most wonderful soul on earth and also said wonderful things about Antonio.
Special thanks to the Prince George Ballroom and Vestal Magazine.

For Callula Lillibelle’s SS13 presentation I got to follow around Tim Duenas of Arrojo and watch him work while I took backstage shots. I also meandered to the food area and ate a good portion of the models’ lunch, ha ha! Up above are some shots of the prep, then presentation afterward.
It was great to see blogger friends Kristen and Landon and catch up between all the insanity that Fashion Week brings. I also got a chance to meet wonderful blogger sisters Janelle and Jessica of Girls off Fifth, and I must say I’m totally smitten with the sweet duo.
Keep up with me in real time this fashion week by following my TWITTER & INSTAGRAM.

Why did I sell this insane spotted rabbit fur coat?

DEATH.

Walking.

Will you just LOOK at those cheekbones?

Broken glass.

Distorted.
Really, how horrible is it that these photos are 8+ months old? That’s the magic of film. Every time I take rolls to be processed I never know what’s on them. I like the surprise, then remembering everything about the times captured through everybody’s favorite toy camera. (LOMO FISHEYE YOU HAVE MY HEART).

The Culture Whore gang’s first meeting.

Jazzy shoes on the platform.

Paul et Mark.

BIG SMILES, BIG SMILES.

Cheeeeeers.

Discussion.

The end.

The weather was much kinder to us all at Catalpa on day 2. I only had to wrap my camera in plastic once, due to a slight drizzle when The Cold War Kids were playing. Day 2 was a whirlwind experience, with lots of mingling in the media area, tasty brews courtesy of Magic Hat (what up no. 9!), and deliciously dangerous cupcakes provided by Crumbs. Yeah, they know how to get down festival style.
I wore this awesome SGC top that I bought a year ago. It finally made its debut, and if you think you know something about hi-lo hems, guess again. This shirt is cropped in the front- like belly baring cropped, and hangs extra long in the back. Also, it has sheer silk sleeves. Perfect for when I need some coverage from the sun, but still great for air conditioning via fabric.
I’m still reeling from the experience of being able to shoot so many great musicians. It was my first time seeing the Black Keys live, and you better believe I sang along to every song. Snoop brought some raw west coast flair once again to New York City. I saw him last at Rock The Bells, but honestly, it was a whole new show this time. He played his entire album, Doggystyle. So classic.
I’m sure I’ve been bombarding your twitter feeds and Instagram accounts with news about Te Culture Whore already, but go check out ALL of the photos I took at the festival at THECULTUREWHORE.COM. I’d like to give a great big THANK YOU to Tell All Your Friends PR for making this weekend happen, for photo passes, and for the chance to launch without website with this insane festival under our belt.
Below you can find just a few of my favorite shots from the weekend.

It seems like the weekend took forever to come around, but now that it’s here I feel the days are going by so fast! Up above are some photos of what I wore to the first day of Catalpa NYC. Remember when I made my guide to festival wear and I said, “a good pair of boots will fare you well and possibly save your soul at a festival.” Mid-set during Zola Jesus’ show, it started pouring rain! I’m so glad I went with Docs instead of sandals. Now that’s just asking for trouble.
Other highlights of the day were meeting Hercules and Love Affair, hanging with some cool people in the media tent, and seeing The Black Keys!
Up above you can also find some sneak peek images from the day. We’re working on an extra-special feature over at The Culture Whore, so stay tuned for a full report on Monday!

I lost thousands of photos when my computer died. R.I.P, but luckily had these photos saved on a random photo bucket account. They are from last summer in L.A.
It feels like I haven’t been back to CA in ages, and I don’t see myself going back any time soon. The more I’m here in New York, the more I’m tied to it. I don’t like that. I’m yearning to travel, and see the world. As my friend Isabelle once said, “They say home is where the heart is, but mine never stands still”.
**On another note, I shall be back to regular outfit posts now that I have a new MacBook! I know.. you all are just dying to see what I’ve been clothing my body with!
